The role
The Head of Material Planning shall be responsible to contribute to the production volume achievement, growth and profitability of the plant by procuring products of required quality, quantity and on time. You shall ensure supply chain and value streams resources are managed through continuous improvement by maintaining the highest level of internal customer satisfaction. Together with the Material planning team, the head of material planning shall design a capable supply chain to meet the current and future build readiness. The Head of Material Planning shall report to Head of Supply Chain and play a pivotal role in development and functional leadership of Supply Chain Department.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Ensure supply of supplier parts to achieve Vehicle production and MIW (in house) parts production as per plan
- Ensure supply of right parts on time and maintain inventory as per norms
- Establish strategic relationships with key suppliers
- Review supplier performance for identified parts
- Identify chronic supply issues and take appropriate actions to resolve the same
- Carry out a structured review of the Material planning function with required KPIs and implement improvement actions
- Ensure procurement costs such as premium freight is contained
- Visit suppliers as per plan and based on criticality of the issues
- Deployment and delegation of target to all the team members
- Identify risk and develop mitigation strategies
- Encourage and support team members to drive and achieve results through coaching and mentoring
- KPI management: Part availability landscape (week, monthly, quarterly), ordering of parts, inventory as per norms, open invoices, spare parts service level, rejection parts handling
