The role
We are looking for an Electrical CAD Engineer, to join a dynamic engineering team, to support growth of the product range and raise the quality of Norton motorcycles to new heights. You will be working within the electrical engineering department to deliver the next generation of Norton’s electrical systems. You will be responsible for the development and maintenance of the electrical architecture & communication database networks for all Norton products. You will be expected to deliver future technologies into the product plans. The individual should be a highly motivated hands-on team player, accustomed to working cross-functionally to meet the department and business objectives.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Packaging evaluation of electrical components in an automotive environment.
- Demonstrable experience in implementation of automotive electrical components specification into design.
- 3D EDS design standards experience, ideally from OEM/Tier 1 suppliers.
- Strong 3D CAD design software skills ideal CREO.
- Knowledge of PLM data and BOM management release.
- Defining E/E systems and creating system diagrams.
- Developing new and implementation of existing CAD best practices and standards
Personal Specification
- Automotive engineering process experience, such as : Creation of Automotive Technical Requirements Specifications, DFMEA, PFMEA, Design Verification Planning, Change Management Process, Problem Solving processes, Design standards and Product Lifecycle Management
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a complex and ambiguous environment.
- Proactive personality, positive and strongly passionate about the product
- Willingness to learn new tools and processes.
- Effective time management skills to manage time between several projects.
- Competent using Microsoft business Tools.
- Commercial awareness to understand the impact of decision to the business.
