The Role
Norton Motorcycles are looking for an exceptional Electrical Systems Engineer to help shape the electrical architecture that underpins our next generation of iconic motorcycles. You’ll take ownership of key vehicle systems — from power distribution and control networks to keyless entry and authentication technologies — ensuring every system delivers performance, reliability, and seamless rider interaction worthy of the Norton name.
This role offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of modern motorcycle engineering — combining deep technical expertise with creative problem-solving in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and architecture of vehicle electrical systems, including power distribution, control units, sensors, and communication networks (CAN/LIN)
- Own the keyless systems architecture, covering RF communication, immobilizer design, and secure authentication protocols
- Integrate keyless and electrical systems with ECUs, CAN/LIN networks, and other electronic modules across the vehicle
- Define and maintain system requirements, interface specifications, and functional safety considerations (ISO 26262 or equivalent)
- Conduct validation and verification activities — including RF range testing, cybersecurity and compliance checks, and environmental durability testing
- Diagnose and resolve electrical and system-level issues during prototype builds, integration, and testing phases
- Collaborate closely with suppliers and partners to ensure robust component design, validation, and quality assurance
- Ensure alignment with global regulatory, functional safety, and cybersecurity standards
- Produce comprehensive technical documentation and provide engineering support to manufacturing, service, and customer experience teams
About You
- Degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechatronics Engineering (or related discipline)
- Proven experience in automotive or motorcycle electrical systems design, integration, and validation
- Strong technical knowledge of CAN/LIN communication, ECUs, diagnostics, and power distribution systems
- Hands-on experience with RF communication, immobilizers, and keyless authentication technologies
- Understanding of functional safety (ISO 26262) and cybersecurity principles.
- A structured problem solver with a practical, hands-on approach and keen attention to detail
- Excellent communicator and collaborator, comfortable engaging with cross-functional teams and external suppliers
- A passion for innovation, craftsmanship, and creating products that stir emotion every time the engine starts
Desirable
- Experience with vehicle development frameworks (V-cycle, ASPICE)
- Familiarity with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) or electrical simulation tools
- Exposure to premium or performance vehicle programs
- Enthusiasm for motorcycles and a genuine appreciation for engineering excellence and heritage design
