The Role
The Product Auditor is responsible for independently assessing completed motorcycles against defined quality standards, engineering specifications and customer expectations. Acting as the final quality gate within the manufacturing process, you will conduct detailed product audits, identify defects and quality concerns, and work collaboratively with Production, Manufacturing Engineering and Plant Quality to drive permanent improvements.
Using structured auditing techniques and data analysis, you will identify recurring trends, support root cause investigations and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality and customer satisfaction.
Duties/Responsibilities
Conduct detailed end-of-line and in-process product audits on completed motorcycles
Verify product conformity against engineering specifications, build standards and quality requirements
Assess vehicle appearance, fit and finish, workmanship, functionality and overall customer presentation
Identify cosmetic, dimensional, functional and assembly defects
Raise quality concerns through the appropriate escalation process and ensure issues are accurately documented
Record audit findings using quality management systems and maintain accurate audit records
Analyse audit data to identify recurring defects, trends and opportunities for improvement
Support root cause investigations using structured problem-solving methodologies
Work closely with Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Supplier Quality and Plant Quality teams to eliminate repeat issues
Verify the effectiveness of corrective actions through follow-up audits
Participate in layered process audits, quality reviews and continuous improvement activities
Support new model introductions and production readiness activities by auditing pilot and pre-production builds
Ensure compliance with Norton Motorcycles quality standards, engineering specifications and recognised automotive quality systems
Promote a culture of quality excellence and customer focus throughout manufacturing
Skills/Experience
Essential
Experience within Product Quality, Vehicle Quality, Manufacturing Quality or Final Inspection in an automotive or motorcycle manufacturing environment
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and vehicle assembly
Experience carrying out product or vehicle audits
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify cosmetic and functional defects
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience recording quality data and producing clear audit reports
Confident communicator with the ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments
Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
Desirable
Experience within an automotive OEM or premium manufacturing environment
Knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
Experience using structured problem-solving techniques such as 8D, 5 Why and Ishikawa
Familiarity with AIAG Core Tools
Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
Experience using quality management systems and ERP software such as SAP
Internal Quality Auditor qualification
Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent Continuous Improvement qualification
