The role
We are looking for a mid-level Product Designers to join us on a 3-month fixed-term contract to lead the design and development of our first range of off-bike motorcycle accessories, including:
- Bike covers
- Paddock stands
- Garage mats
- Customisable motorcycle luggage
You will be responsible for delivering original, practical, and visually compelling solutions that align with Norton’s premium positioning and meet the functional needs of riders.
This role blends creative industrial design with a practical understanding of how products are used, stored, and styled off the bike, contributing to a cohesive Norton rider lifestyle.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Research and define product requirements based on user needs, brand positioning, and market benchmarks
- Generate creative concepts, sketches, CAD models, and renderings
- Develop prototypes and work with suppliers to refine designs for manufacturability
- Design customisable elements for motorcycle luggage that balance personalisation with premium quality
- Select materials and finishes appropriate for performance, durability, and visual appeal
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Sourcing
- Ensure all designs meet relevant safety, durability, and quality standards
- Manage and deliver project timelines to meet the fixed contract duration
Personal Specification
- Degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, or a related field
- 3–5 years of relevant design experience (consumer goods, industrial products, automotive accessories or similar)
- Proficient in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Rhino, Fusion 360) – essential
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop)
- Strong knowledge of materials, manufacturing techniques, and user-centred design
- A hands-on approach with a proactive attitude and attention to detail
- Experience working with physical products from concept through to production
- Passion for motorcycles and/or motorsport is a plus – but not essential
