The Role
We are seeking an experienced and driven Supply Quality Engineer on a contract basis to support supplier quality assurance across new product introduction (NPI) programmes. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that suppliers meet quality and readiness standards in line with internal and external requirements. You will work cross-functionally with procurement, engineering, and manufacturing teams while managing quality-related risks and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities through effective use of PPAP and APQP tools
- Conduct Supplier Qualification Reviews (SQR) and Supplier Production Readiness (SPR) assessments
- Maintain clear and timely communication between suppliers and internal teams including procurement, design, and manufacturing
- Document and report supplier progress against NPI programme milestones and gateway reviews
- Identify and manage risks to ensure quality deliverables are achieved in accordance with project timelines
- Drive improvements in quality-related systems, procedures, and documentation
- Facilitate robust root cause analysis and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Conduct supplier audits and ensure compliance to relevant standards and best practices
- Travel to supplier sites, primarily across Western Europe, as required
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a Supplier Quality Engineering role within Automotive, Aerospace, or other regulated manufacturing sectors
- Degree in Engineering discipline - Certified in Quality Auditing (IATF 16949, ISO 9000, AS 9000
- Hands-on experience with PPAP, APQP, FMEA, MSA, and control plans
- Proficient in interpreting complex engineering drawings and specifications
- Strong practical knowledge of problem-solving methodologies, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation
- Working knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 9000 quality standards
- Certified Lead Auditor (IATF/ISO 9001/AS9100) qualification preferred
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels
- Willingness and ability to travel to supplier locations when necessary
