The Role
Norton Motorcycles is seeking a talented and motivated Electrical CAD Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this pivotal role, you will help drive the growth of our product range and raise the quality of Norton motorcycles to new heights.
Working within the Electrical Engineering department, you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of electrical architecture and communication database networks for all Norton products. You will also play a key role in delivering future electrical technologies into our product plans.

Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate packaging of electrical components in an automotive environment to ensure robust and efficient integration.
- Implement automotive electrical component specifications into design solutions.
- Develop 3D Electrical Distribution System (EDS) designs in line with industry standards (OEM/Tier 1 experience preferred).
- Create and maintain system diagrams to define electrical/electronic (E/E) systems.
- Utilise 3D CAD design software (CREO) to produce high-quality designs.
- Manage PLM data, Bill of Materials (BOM), and design release processes.
- Take ownership of BOM creation and maintenance, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project deliverables.
- Develop new and implement existing CAD best practices and design standards across the team.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to support delivery of new products and technologies.
Personal Specification
- Experience within an automotive engineering environment (motorcycle experience desirable).
- Understanding and practical experience with automotive engineering processes, such as:
- Creation of Automotive Technical Requirements Specifications
- DFMEA / PFMEA (Design & Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
- Design Verification Planning
- Change Management processes
- Structured problem-solving methods
- Design approval flows
- Strong 3D CAD skills (CREO preferred) and familiarity with PLM systems.
- Ability to work proactively, both independently and within a team.
- Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering engineering excellence.
