Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive, detail-driven, and highly organised Junior Material Planner / Buyer to join our dynamic Supply Chain team. Working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, you will play a key role in ensuring that materials and components for motorcycle production are available on time, in full, and at optimal stock levels.
This position is primarily focused on material planning, with additional responsibilities in procurement and supplier coordination. You will work closely with production, quality, logistics, and supplier teams to maintain supply continuity, support engineering changes, and contribute to the smooth running of manufacturing operations for current motorcycle models.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor the production schedule against material supply to prevent shortages or line stoppages
Maintain, update, and validate supplier data and planning parameters within MRP systems (lead times, MOQ, safety stock, etc.
Conduct daily and weekly part coverage reviews with global supplier base, implementing actions to meet production requirements
Maintain stock levels in line with production forecasts, build plans, and agreed inventory targets
Organise and monitor inbound logistics for production parts, subcontracted parts, and aftersales components
Utilise SAP systems to assess run reports, identify errors/anomalies, and take corrective actions
Assist the Quality team with rejected parts management and ensure timely resolution.
Perform stock take and reconciliation at vendor sites, investigating discrepancies.
Ensure closure of supplier invoices and proforma invoices in line with payment terms.
Requirements
Experience Hands-on experience using SAP and MRP planning systems (essential)
Experience working in an automotive or similar high-volume engineering environment
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced production environment
Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments and external suppliers
Basic understanding of procurement processes, purchasing terminology, and supplier management
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience within a material planning, scheduling, or supply chain coordination role
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, Bill of Materials (BOM) structures
Experience with logistics coordination, inbound freight management
Engineering or Equivalent Qualification
