The role
The Sales Planner, based within the Sales Department, will work closely with the Head of UK Sales and cross functional departments to ensure a robust sales plan is successfully implemented. This role will be responsible for the development of the Sales Planning function through the implementation of Policy plans, as well as strengthening DWM and Taskforce achievement ensuring speed of action & rigor of execution.
Responsible for readiness and business insights for management reviews, as well as streamlining the S&OP process by demand planning, Sales Forecasting & Stock optimization.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Collect & analyse periodical information on external factors (competition, growth drivers, industry, etc.)
- Forecasting industry & retail trends in order to achieve market share goals.
- Ensure timely & optimum availability of product through demand & supply order planning interfacing with stakeholders
- Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, review forecast data, map against statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results.
- Setting & deployment of targets for the region in alignment with overall plan
- Annual, Quarterly & monthly planning of business volumes, market share, profitability and budgets
- Preparing market schemes & incentives plans and tracking effectiveness thereby managing sales promotion budgets.
- Diagnose & generate insights on chronic non achievement areas
- Capturing & horizontal deployment of Best Practices across the zone
- Responsible for close coordination with field for daily work Management
- Set & manage review cadences & ensure timely readiness of business reports and project updates
Personal Specification
- Sales & Distribution management experience
- 5 Years + experience in sales planning
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Data & Statistical analysis and forecasting experience
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to present technical information clearly and concisely at a level appropriate to the target audience
- Solve problems by systematically analysing issues, drawing logical conclusions, and recommending practical solutions
- Flexibility and creative thinking
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and time constraints in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment
